Many people do not know how to avoid food parasites or understand the importance of maintaining a healthy intestinal tract and digestive system in general. If you have poor eating habits, and allow yourself to exist in a constant state of stress with very little exercise or time for relaxation, you should know that you are putting yourself at high risk for developing an infestation of food parasites. Worms and other nasty microscopic parasites can develop in your intestine when your immune system is operating poorly due to an ongoing illness or a diet that is low in actual nutrition.

If you are concerned that you or your family members might be in danger of developing food parasites and want to learn how to avoid them, you should start to evaluate your risk by taking stock of your daily diet. Take particular notice of high consumption of meats, dairy products, sugars and foods that are known to form acid. This is the perfect diet and intestinal situation for food parasites to flourish in. Food parasites dislike raw green vegetables, tomatoes, raw carrots, black pepper, ground almonds, blackberries, fresh horseradish, and in general, foods that are high in natural fiber.

If you think you or someone you love might already be affected by food parasites, then there are several things that you can do to start encouraging them to leave your body. First of all, you should immediately alter your diet to include only foods that the parasites find unappetizing. Secondly, you should start taking garlic supplements, or add a lot of fresh garlic to your diet, as it is a natural anti-parasitic.

The World Health Organization (WHO) classifies parasites as among the six most dangerous diseases that infect humans. One would think that food supplies in the USA would be relatively free from parasites that could cause infections in humans. However, food parasites are more common in USA than most people think. American doctors have concluded that parasites can be one of the most undiagnosed health problems in our country, and Americans should learn how to avoid them.

Most of those parasites are microscopic, but a few are types of worms that can grow to up to 20 feet inside the intestines. Tapeworms can be found in both pork and beef. Anyone who consumes undercooked pork or beef is at risk of becoming infected with tapeworms. Other common parasites are Giardia Duodenalis and Trichinella Spiralis. Trichinosis infection is classed as a type of food poisoning and may have severe symptoms. With other parasites, though, some people may contract the infection but never experience any symptoms.

Google Developer Day 2008 took place on June 18 at the Wharf 8 Venue Complex in Sydney, Australia. This is the fourth event after Japan, China, and Taiwan. Thirteen Google Developer days have been scheduled for 2008. About 650 local developers participated in this conference.

Internet APIs on websites and enterprises was emphasised at this event, in addition to discussions on Google Apps Engine, Google Maps, and Android.

Alan Noble, Engineering Director of Google Australia and New Zealand, hoped potential talents and developers can be discovered in this conference, and also commented about the Internet era to local media: “Developers took hold of the notion that the web itself is truly the platform of the future – an open playing field where anyone can build innovative applications.”

In a study that appeared on Monday in Biological Psychiatry, scientists from the Universities of California and North Carolina, with several other universities in the United States and Canada, report a strong correlation between abnormal distribution of cerebrospinal fluid in infants and later development of autistic symptoms.

“The more extra-axial CSF present at six months, the more severe the autism symptoms when the kids were diagnosed at 24 months of age,” said first author Dr. Mark Shen, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina.

The study covered 343 children examined aged six months, twelve months, and twenty-four months, 221 of whom had older siblings with autism. Children with higher than usual volumes of cerebrospinal fluid in the subarachnoid space — the area just around the brain — were more likely to be diagnosed with autism later in life, with a strong correlation in the high-risk group. Ultimately, cerebrospinal volume was able to provide an early diagnosis of probably ASD in high-risk children with 70% accuracy. The six-month-old babies who later went on to a diagnosis of autism had an average of 18% more CSF by volume than those who were not so diagnosed. This built on the findings of a 2013 study that covered only 55 children.

Researchers said it is not clear whether a large amount of cerebrospinal fluid actually causes autism or not. While studies have shown that cerebrospinal fluid, once thought to act solely as a cushioner and shock absorber for the brain, can influence the way neurons grow, Shen speculated that the large amount of fluid may itself be a symptom: “We believe that extra-axial CSF is an early sign that CSF is not filtering and draining when it should. The result is that there could be a buildup of neuro-inflammation that isn’t being washed [a]way.”

Currently, coauthor David Amaral said, children are not diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders until they are old enough for their behavior to change, usually at two or three years old. Researchers said these findings could be used to develop an early diagnostic system usable when the patient is as young as six months old.

Rahul Mahajan’s condition has improved and has been taken off ventilator support. Rahul’s CT scan report is normal and his vital parameters have shown an improvement. He will however, be kept under observation for another 3 days. “The condition of Rahul Mahajan has gradually improved over the last 12 hours. After due assessment of clinical status and investigation, our team of doctors found his vital parameters improving,” a medical bulletin released by the Apollo Hospital said.

Rahul Mahajan, the son of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan has been admitted to the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi in a critical state, apparently after a drug overdose. Rahul was found in an unconscious state in his father’s residence in New Delhi early today morning. Vivek Moitra, Pramod Mahajan’s secretary who was with Rahul at the party has been declared dead presumably as a result of the same drug. Police say the Rahul, Vivek and three other men were drinking champagne together and were also apparently consuming cocaine. This assumption is based of the fact that opiate traces were found in the deceased Mr. Moitra’s pocket.

Doctors described Rahul’s condition as “critical but stable”. They said that details regarding what led to his present condition would be revealed after the conduction of a toxicology test. Two domestic helps rushed the men to hospital in the early hours of today morning. The helps disturbed the scene by clearing up the glasses and the bottles. Traces of what seems to be cocaine were however found in one the glasses.

Rahul is currently on a ventilator and his condition will have to be closely monitored for the next couple of days. He was supposed to visit Assam tomorrow to immerse his father’s ashes in the Brahmaputra. Mr. Pramod Mahjan died about a month ago after being shot by his brother. Rahul was on anti-depressants as a result of this.

The international forces in East Timor have reached an agreement about the coordination of the military and police forces in the field. Representatives of the four countries reached the agreement during an urgent meeting after an incident between Australian and Portuguese soldiers yesterday.

In the agreement reached between Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Portugal and the Timorese government, operational autonomy is given to the international forces, which will operate in cooperation and coordination with each other.

The agreement also stated that in an initial phase Dili will be divided into sectors, and each area will be under the control of an international force. Outside of its area of responsibility, the military or police force will only be able to operate if other international forces request their actions. Also was agreed that the police forces will assume total control of the city after the military forces leave their current occupied positions. A situation that is expected after the arrival of the remaining equipment, mainly vehicles, for the Portuguese Republican National Guard (GNR) and the arrival of the remaining Malaysian police officers and their equipment.

In an official notice, the Timorese Foreign Minister, José Ramos Horta stated that “the objective on a long run is for the GNR to operate has a tactical intervention force in all the city of Dili”.

Ramos Horta explained that “in the next days, maybe already tomorrow morning, they [the Australian, Malaysian, New Zealand and Portuguese forces] will do some coordination training, in way to assure that the four forces know exactly what each one will do”. “Since some are from the Army and the others [Portuguese Republican National Guard] are a specialized police and that they never worked together, its useful to carry out some practical exercises”, he added.

In another subject, Ramos Horta explained that the Australian soldiers that are in Maubisse, next to a rebel group lead by major Reinado, and in Gleno, Ermera, next to another group of “military opponents”, are there “containing those elements”.

“Those groups are not comparable with other people that are here in Dili and that must be disarmed”, Ramos Horta said.

“The Australian presence in Maubisse and Gleno aims in containing those groups on their areas, until arrives the moment in which the President decides that is time for also mister Alfredo Reinado and the others to put down their weapons”, he said. “This is not urgent because they are not causing problems to anyone”, he justified.

The urgency of the resolution and clarification of the command and cooperation of the international forces was originated after an incident between Australian and Portuguese soldiers. When yesterday a Portuguese GNR patrol transported three people to a temporary detention center managed by Australian soldiers.

The detainees were arrested by a GNR Special Operations team, after being caught looting a governmental warehouse, in Balide, Dili.

The Australian soldiers then refused to receive the detained men, questioning the legitimacy of the Portuguese soldiers to make arrests. The Portuguese contingent transported the detainees to the Timorese prison services in Dili.

A recent conversation with a friend made me realize exactly how dangerous (unpaid) debts can be. You see, this friend of mine works in a law office and recalled an incident in the office a while back. A lady came over to the office looking for a lawyer, claiming to be his aunt and in need of his help. Since her husband had passed away a year before that, she has had to work several jobs to feed her family of five and pay off the never-ending debts. However, without the husband, her income was simply not enough to cover everything. The bank had already foreclosed her house and she was currently living in a small rental house. The trouble was, some of her creditors had come forward with court judgments to seize what little assets that she had left – the TV, old sofas, tables, car and even her wages!

I did a little digging regarding this and it turns out that creditors can indeed go to court and obtain a judgment against you. ‘What is a judgment against you?’ was the question I asked, and you probably should know a little about it too. Here’s some information that I’ve gathered on the subject of judgment.

If you have loans with a default for a prolonged period, a creditor may go to court to obtain a judgment. A judgment is essentially a decision or order from court; in this case, it is a court order that says you are obligated to pay off your outstanding debts by any (legal) means. In some cases, the creditors are allowed to seize your properties or funds from your bank accounts, or/and garnish your wages. However, these are all usually dependent on individual states. For instance, states like North and South Carolina, Texas and Pennsylvania disallow wage garnishment. Therefore, if you do have a judgment against you, try to find out about the judgment and the stance of your state regarding it.

Judgment proof

After you’ve received a judgment, there is usually only two ways to go about it – pay off the debts or fight it. When I say fight it, I don’t mean for you to fight the creditors physically. What I mean is that you may go to court to counter the judgment, where you may have to prove that you are ‘financially crippled’ and cannot possibly pay off the debt. If the court should decide that you do not have any income or worthy assets that your creditors can seize, then you would likely be considered judgment proof. Having said that, different states may value assets differently. So if you do have some assets left, there is still a possibility that they will remain untouched.

If possible, you may want to work out an arrangement of the payments with your creditors before the matter is brought to court. One of the consequences of a judgment is its effect on your credit scores. It may leave a ‘black mark’ on your rating, which may stay for up to ten years, making it more difficult to get approval on other loans or mortgages in the future. After all, there are plenty of debt loan help available nowadays, whether from banks, credit counseling agencies or the like. In less serious cases, you may still opt for debt consolidation to reduce your monthly payments. In more serious cases, you may have to go for debt settlement; otherwise the last resort may have to be a declaration of bankruptcy.

Joe McElderry has won the sixth series of the UK X Factor, in a hotly contested final with Olly Murs, after the third finalist, Stacey Solomon was voted off last night. McElderry was the favourite earlier this evening with odds of 2/9 from both Ladbrokes and William Hill, compared to 3/1 odds for Murs. Joe’s family had clubbed together to bet on his winning the show, even before the first live show was aired, at odds of 14/1. They are expected to receive approximately £14,000.

On Saturday night, McElderry sung Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me with George Michael, who said that Joe “rose to the occasion…I think he’s got a great future.” He also received a video message from Kylie Minogue after his performance, in which she said “I’m sending you lots of love and kisses. Have fun.” McElderry is from South Shields, Newcastle and born in 1991, began singing at 14. He auditioned for The X Factor in 2007, but felt too young when compared to the other contestants. Together with Lloyd Daniels and Rikki Loney he was mentored by Cheryl Cole, one of the four X Factor judges.

The weekend’s prime time shows are expected to have had more than 18 million viewers, with one analyst estimating £100m of revenue going to ITV from the autumn show. ITV also hope that it will aid in turning around their declining revenue.

As is tradition, McElderry will release a single next week in an attempt to gain the Christmas Number 1 chart spot. In recent years, the X Factor single has always gained that accolade.
